From 1978-1991, Mr. Gray served as a U.S. congressman from Pennsylvania, and was the
chairman of the House Budget Committee, chairman of the Democratic Caucus, and majority
whip. After leaving Congress, Mr. Gray became president and chief executive officer of
the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and served as special adviser to President Clinton
on developing and implementing a policy to restore democracy in Haiti. He is founder and
chairman of The Amani Group, a business advisory firm.
